02 / Experience

Working across the system.

Firmware, test infrastructure, PCB work, system architecture, and the practical work of getting each layer to cooperate.

Selected experience

The common thread is integration: understanding the interfaces, building the tooling, and validating the whole system.

01

LionsBot International

Embedded Systems Intern

  • Architected and led development of an STM32U585 hardware-in-the-loop ECU test platform using C, FreeRTOS, FDCAN, and Python/pywebview.
  • Automated about 20 end-to-end validation cases, reducing execution from roughly 10 minutes to under one minute.
  • Built a production QC application for the R5 RFS and designed, fabricated, and validated a two-layer KiCad interface PCB for a new trolley system.

Galassia-5 Satellite Programme

Skunkworks SBC Team Lead

  • Led the design of an alternative onboard computer architecture based on COM Express Type 10.
  • Worked through compute, FPGA, peripheral, power, radiation, thermal, and reliability trade-offs under mission constraints.
  • Coordinated interface reviews across radio, payload, camera, and avionics teams and documented the integration and test strategy.

Teaching Assistant

  • Guided students through bare-metal Arduino labs, C programming, register-level peripheral configuration, I/O, and debugging for CG2111A.
  • Mentor students using ROS 2 on Ubuntu for CDE2310, including packages, build issues, launch problems, workspace organisation, and navigation-stack usage.

Wearable fall detection device

Firmware for an STM32 wearable that processes accelerometer and gyroscope data, detects falls, and exports stored data to a mobile dashboard over NFC.

  • Implemented sensor processing and fall-detection logic in C.
  • Wrote a sliding-window moving average filter in assembly.

02FPGA / digital logic

K-Map simplifier & visualiser

An interactive FPGA system for entering three-variable K-Maps and viewing Boolean expressions and logic circuits in real time.

  • Built K-Map input, SOP/POS selection, and canonical-expression generation logic.
  • Integrated the OLED rendering pipeline and team submodules through the top-level controller.

03Autonomous robotics

Search-and-rescue robot

A TurtleBot3 that maps an unknown maze, detects heat signatures, and plans routes toward detected targets without a pre-mapped environment.

  • Integrated ROS 2 Humble, Nav2, SLAM, 2D LiDAR, and IR sensing.
  • Implemented A* path planning and application logic for heat-source goals.

04Game / software

UniQuest

A two-person NUS-themed platformer, built in Godot and shipped across Linux, Windows, Web, and Android.

  • Implemented character customisation, combat, collectables, progression, and mobile touch controls.
  • Created custom sprites, tilesheets, and background music in-house.

05 / About

I like projects that make me move between layers.

I’m a Computer Engineering undergraduate at the National University of Singapore, also pursuing a second major in the Innovation and Design Programme.

Most of my work sits around embedded systems and robotics. I enjoy following a problem from a circuit or sensor, through firmware and communication, into the tooling that tests the finished system.

Outside that lane, I have built a Java CLI application, a cross-platform game, websites, and visual work for student organisations. The medium changes; I still care about making the result clear and usable.

Beyond engineering

I create publicity and web material with NUS Bitscraps, and have taught foundational HTML and CSS in a community outreach programme.
